Rocks Organic Fruit Drinks

feature photo

I am appalled by the amount of drinks aimed at children which use artificial preservatives, colours, flavourings and sweeteners. Although as a family we mostly drink water or herbal teas, it’s sometimes nice to have a sweeter tasting fruit drink. Rocks Organic do a great range or drinks with no artificial ingredients. We particularly like the lemon, orange and blackcurrant drinks. They really taste of fruit which I find other cheaper brands don’t. They are a healthier alternative to many other brands.

I would strongly recommended that parents have a close look at the ingredients on the drinks they buy for their children. Sodium Benzoate, Sulphar Dioxide, Potassium Sorbate and Dimethyl Dicarbonate are all harmful preservatives that some manufacturers use to prolong their drinks shelf life. Some well know and popular brand drinks use the artificial sweetener aspartame which can have a nervous and behavioural effect on some people.

  1. We buy the blackcurrant one (in fact I did’nt know you could get other flavours). My children like it even though my eldest daughter thinks anything with “organic” on the label is going to taste disgusting and posion her.
The glass bottles are a nostalgic reminder of the Corona and Vimto drinks I used to have a kid. Rocks drinks rock !

  2. i read somewhere on the internet that long term consumption of Aspartame is not really good for the health. ;~*

  4. Yes there seem lots of evidence around that aspartame is bad for people. It’s really upsetting that drinks such as fruit shoots are marketed as a healthy drink for children, but contain aspartame.

  5. aspartame can be dangerous to ones health specially if you have sensitive to it. it is still better to use natural alternatives like stevia. ..
