Farmers Market

Farmers Market

If you are trying to be less dependent on Supermarkets than check out your local farmers market. Farmers markets can be a great place to purchase locally produced food at competitive prices. They provide opportunities for local people to buy locally produced and low packaged foods.

There are more farmer markets cropping up thoughout the country, some are held at university campus’ such as the one at UWEso its a convinent place for students to shop. Others like the Whiteladies Market in Bristol are held near residential areas. The Whiteladies Market began back in June 2006 and currently takes place twice every month always on a Saturday. It is at the corner of Whiteladies Road and Apsley Road by the old St Johns Church (Dreweatte Neatte auction rooms) BS8 2ST. The market has a really friendly feeling and a sense of comunity spirit, many of the local residents have been involved in organising the markets.
